Base Salary: $120,451 - $129,343 (p.a.)
Total Effective Package: $147,529 - $157,579 (p.a.)*

About the role
The role of the Sexual Health Nurse — Enhanced Syphilis Response Program (ESRP) is to support the implementation of targeted screening of women/ men in Utju and Ntaria communities. This is a service delivery position, with considerable time spent on clinical activities, both in the clinic and outreach. These activities include the undertaking of screening, prevention, treatment, education and monitoring of sexually transmissible infections (STI's) in the Central Australian region with a particular focus on addressing the current syphilis outbreak.

 

These tasks are conducted autonomously with support and mentoring of the Sexual Health Coordinator as required to ensure best clinical practice, and further enhance specialist skills and knowledge within the Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus and Public Health Program context

 

 

To be considered for this position, you will require to meet the following essential requirements:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a health professional with the relevant board and demonstrated, highly developed clinical skills, knowledge of best practice in the specialty and recent experience, particularly in the area of Aboriginal primary health care and Sexual Health and Blood Borne Viruses
  • Ability to work effectively in a small multidisciplinary team and autonomously, utilising time management and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in case management, developing and maintaining effective networks, alliances and relationships with families, individuals, communities and health sector organisations
  • Emerging ability to effectively plan, develop, deliver, evaluate and report on projects and programs effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to use a computer and its applications at a high standard
  • Current driver's licence, and ability to drive a 4WD and willingness to travel by light aircraft to remote communities for up to a week.
  • Willingness to adhere to the Congress Smoke Free Workplace Policy.
  • Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations
