Sexual Health Nurse - Viral Hepatitis Care Coordination

37.5 hours per week 

 

$120,451 - $129,343 per annum

Total Effective Package*

$148,749 - $158,888

About the role:

The Viral Hepatitis Nurse is to support the formation and implementation of a viral hepatitis care coordination process across Central Australian regions, including Congress town and remote clinics. This is a service delivery position, with considerable time spent on clinical activities, both in the clinic and outreach. These activities include the undertaking of screening, prevention, treatment, education and monitoring of clients with viral hepatitis

 

These tasks are conducted autonomously with support and mentoring of the Sexual Health Coordinator as required to ensure best clinical practice, and further enhance specialist skills and knowledge within the Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus and Public Health Program context.

 

Who are we looking for?

Someone to complement our dynamic team with the following essential requirements

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a health professional with the relevant board and demonstrated, highly developed clinical skills, knowledge of best practice in the specialty and recent experience, particularly in the area of Aboriginal primary health care and Sexual Health/ Viral Hepatitis.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small multidisciplinary team and autonomously, 
    utilising time
    management and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in case management, developing and maintaining effective networks, alliances and relationships with families, individuals, communities and health sector organisations.
  • Emerging ability to effectively plan, develop, deliver, evaluate and report on projects and programs effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to use a computer and its applications at a high standard
  • Current driver’s licence, and ability to drive a 4WD and willingness to travel by light aircraft to remote communities for up to a week.
  • Willingness to adhere to the Congress Smoke Free Workplace Policy.

*Total Effective Package includes base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, and estimated tax saving from salary packaging options
