Aboriginal Health Worker Traineeship

  • Base Salary: $53,820 - $56,862 p.a.
  • Total Effective Package: $ 71,095 - $ 74,563 p.a.*

What you’ll be doing:

With supervision and support, you will:

  • Work alongside Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors and allied health staff
  • Provide basic health information and support to clients
  • Help with health promotion activities and community events
  • Learn how clinics operate, including records, follow-ups and recalls
  • Attend training blocks and complete assessments toward your Certificate II
  • Build practical skills, knowledge and workplace confidence

You’ll be supported by supervisors, educators and the Aboriginal Workforce team throughout your traineeship.

 

Who can apply?

  • This is an Aboriginal identified position
  • Be willing and able to complete the Certificate II in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
  • Have an interest in health, learning and supporting your community
  • Be reliable, respectful and open to feedback and training
  • Be comfortable using basic computer systems

Speaking local language and knowledge of Central Australia is an advantage, but not essential.
