Community Wellbeing Case Worker
Mental Health/SEWB - Alice Springs, NT

  • Base Salary: $77,688 - $86,424 (p.a.)
  • Total Effective Package: $98,309 - $108,270 (p.a.)*

About the role

The Community Wellbeing Case Worker provides a range of service supports to the SEWB team, including individualised supports to clients and their families to increase their social and emotional wellbeing, bi-cultural pairing with other SEWB workers, and active client follow-up. The role will work with people in community and residential programs who may be experiencing difficulties with alcohol and other drugs, chronic disease, mental health problems, domestic and family violence, housing, and other social issues. This role will include individual case management.

To be considered for this position, you will require:

  • Be of Aboriginal descent; identify as an Aboriginal person; and accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community.
  • Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs or other related field such as Mental Health, Aboriginal Health, Community Services, Allied Health Assistance or Social Care or relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the social and emotional wellbeing needs and issues of Aboriginal people 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills and be willing to discuss and demonstrate your own knowledge and skills with work colleagues.
  • To understand and maintain strict confidentiality in a health care setting as well as cultural sensitivity within the Aboriginal community.
  • Computer literacy with the ability to enter information into health databases such as a patient information system.
  • A current and unrestricted NT Drivers Licence.
