They need reliable clinical leadership that is strategic, innovative and can solve problems for remote Aboriginal health practice. About the role The Deputy Medical Director is a senior clinical leadership position in the Clinical Services Section working closely with and under the direction of the Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and supervision to ensure all remote clinics are delivering high quality comprehensive and culturally safe care to our clients. The Deputy Medical Director splits their commitment to working in Clinic with a multidisciplinary team as a Senior GP providing comprehensive primary health care to clients, supervision to GPRs and providing leadership to all remote Clinic Managers across all remote clinics along with a commitment (50% of hours worked) to working in the Clinical Leadership team, with a particular focus on medical practitioners, policy development, clinical risk mitigation and continuous quality improvement with the support of the Clinical Administration team. As the largest Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation in the Northern Territory, Congress employs a large team of GPs across our 13 clinics in the Central Australian region. General Practitioners in Central Australian Aboriginal Congress work within a multidisciplinary team practicing interesting and complex medicine.
