$88,861 - $103,623 per annum

About the role

The Early Years Aboriginal Family Support Worker provides culturally safe, educational and responsive support to infants, young children and their families referred to the Early Years Family Support Program. 

 

To be considered for this position, you will require:

  • Is of Aboriginal descent; identifies as an Aboriginal person; and is accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community.
  • Qualification (Cert IV or above) in relevant field or experience in one or more of the following areas - family support, early childhood, education, or health or working towards a qualification in this area.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in providing parenting and life skills support to vulnerable families with infants and young children and an understanding of child development to educate and support infants and young children to thrive in their families' care. 
  • Awareness of / sensitivity to local Aboriginal culture and history, the ability to communicate effectively with the Alice Springs Aboriginal community and extended family members.
  • Demonstrated capacity to use a computer for data entry and case note recording.
  • Current NT Drivers License. 
  • Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations.
