Clinic Support Full-Time Contract Join a progressive organisation delivering community-led programs with the Northern Territory's largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service. $94,126.50 to $99,352.50 per annum, pro- rata Total Effective Package* $117,052 to $123,011 pro-rata About the role The Graduate Optometrist provides culturally responsive, safe and high-quality optometry services for Aboriginal people within the Central Australian community. The Graduate Optometrist will support clients to optimise vision and eye health to facilitate independence and quality of life, with supervision and support from clinical supervisors and managers. Wherever possible, the Graduate Optometrist will foster self-determination of clients and community by facilitating choice and control over service delivery. What we’re looking for? Someone to fit our team with the following requirements: - Tertiary qualification in optometry, with current AHPRA registration to practice optometry in Australia.
- Knowledge of community-based optometry service delivery within a multidisciplinary team, including working with a broad range of clients from varying socioeconomic backgrounds who present with a variety of conditions.
- An understanding of the historical and contemporary context of Aboriginal health, the social determinants of health, and the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Control.
- Flexible approach to service delivery that is responsive to the needs of the community.
- Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations.
