Senior Caseworker - Starting Strong Family Support Program
Early Years - Alice Springs

Full-time Contract

37.5 hours per week

 

$124,156 - $131,215 per annum

Total Effective Package*

$152,974 - $161,023

 

About the role

The Senior Caseworker provides high quality culturally safe case management, educational and responsive support to infants, young children and their families referred to the Starting Strong Family Support Program. The position is also expected to work with families with more complex needs, and to provide mentoring, guidance and specialist consultancy to members of the team, in collaboration with the Starting Strong Family Support Manager. 

 

To be considered for this position, you will require:

  • Degree in Social Work or other related field, recognised or accredited by the respective professional body (AASW, AHPRA), with significant experience in case management practice.
  • Demonstrated high level of case management experience and skills for complex, vulnerable families that is child focused, family centred and empowers parents to improve outcomes for their children, including facilitating case conferences, group activities and collaborating with other services. 
  • Demonstrated experience with family assessments, including a solid understanding of child development and the impact of trauma on children including neglect. 
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and mentoring, and/or facilitation of reflective practice sessions to ensure best practice in service delivery.
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history and knowledge of factors influencing the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal children and families in Central Australia. 
  • Current NT Drivers License. 
  • Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations.
