The Role:

 

We are looking for a Child Engagement Worker to join our team at our Child, Health and Development Centre (CHaD).

 

The Child Engagement Worker is an unqualified entry level position within the Child Health and Development team. The position supports the delivery of quality early childhood education and care to children based on the Abecedarian Approach Australia (3a). The position focuses on the implementation of a culturally rich environment that includes the use of Aboriginal languages of children in the centre, games, activities and songs.


Congress has a strong focus on cultural safety and working within a bi-cultural model. The Centre ensures the delivery of supportive, culturally appropriate primary healthcare and build on existing positive relationships with Aboriginal families to ensure, regular family engagement, increased enrolments, and increased children’s participation and attendance.

 

To be considered for this position, you will require:

  • Demonstrated experience within a Childcare environment or evident passion for working with and supporting early childhood development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe food handling practices or willingness to complete appropriate training in this area.
  • Able to prepare nutritious meals for the Children in the Centres kitchen.
  • Ability to contribute as an active team member to all aspects of the functioning of the Child Health and Development Centre.
  • NT Drivers Licence or ability to obtain one.
