About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in remote Aboriginal Communities from the comfort of your own home! Join our Remote Services Team as a Telehealth Nurse providing culturally appropriate primary health care and access to after-hours emergency care. The Telehealth Nurse is responsible for providing clinical support to clients outside of regular business hours (shifts 7 days per week (1700hrs – 0100hrs))

This role requires excellent communication skills and clinical judgement to assess client’s needs accurately over the phone and to provide medical advice that is appropriate to their context. Referral to the local clinic team will be required on occasions either immediately in an emergency or the following morning.

The position sits within remote services and works with a team including a GP, Remote Area Nurses, Clinic Managers, Aboriginal Health Practitioners and MrACC.
