About the role

 

The Family Partnership Worker (FPW) is an integral position in the Congress Australian Nurse Family Partnership Program (ANFPP) visiting team.

 

The Family Partnership Worker supports the visiting team by providing education, promotional activities and cultural guidance. Supports clients to achieve their goals and ensures that home visits are culturally sensitive.

 

The ANFPP team consists of specially trained Nurse Home Visitors, Family Partnership Workers, Social Workers and Nurse Supervisor. The team visits women and their families to support a healthy pregnancy and confident parenting.

 

The program is relationship based and strengths focused with an opportunity to develop warm, consistent and caring therapeutic relationships with women.

 

To be considered for this position, you will require;

  • Identifies as an Aboriginal person; recognised and accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community
  • Excellent communication skills including fluency in one or more local Aboriginal languages, and the ability to communicate sensitively in a cross-cultural environment
  • Qualifications in a relevant field or the willingness to obtain; or a minimum of 1 year experience in a relevant field (e.g. maternal and child health, early childhood, family and community services, counselling) of working with Aboriginal women, children and families
  • Well‐developed interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build relationship networks and establish trust with the community
  • Current Drivers Licence
