Full-time Contract 37.5 hours per week $108,225 - $115,615 per annum Total Effective Package* $132,578 - $140,968 About the role The Child Health Nurse provides comprehensive primary health care with a particular focus on child health to provide our babies and children the best start in life. The position sits within the Child Health Engagement Team and works within a multidisciplinary team including GP's, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, Registered Nurses, SEWB Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals, an Aboriginal Liaison Officer, Care Coordinator, Transport Officer and Client Service Officers. To be considered for this position, you will require: - Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA with five years' clinical practice
- Current experience and knowledge of the NT Vaccination schedule in relation to childhood immunisations and accredited to provide vaccinations or willing to undertake accreditation within six months
- Working knowledge of Child Health and an understanding of current practices, theories and values
- Knowledge of child development and how it relates to Aboriginal children in Central Australia
- Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills and experience in facilitating and engaging in health promotion activities to children, their families and staff
- Ability to work autonomously in a multidisciplinary team with Aboriginal clients and staff
- Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations
- NT Drivers Licence or the ability to obtain
