About the Role The NDIS Support Leader works in close partnerships with the Coordinator of the Aboriginal Community Connectors and the Aboriginal Community Connectors, to optimize coordination of Aboriginal people accessing the NDIS. This includes overseeing and monitoring the completion of application paperwork, gathering appropriate disability evidence, seeking and facilitating assessments and managing interagency sharing of information with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) including participant check ins and facilitating planning meetings, all aimed to improve the navigation of a client’s NDIS journey. This position is a critical contributor to NDIS access across Congress town clients and remote communities. To be considered for this position, you will require: - Minimum diploma level qualification in disability, social, community, health or related field or relevant experience, with demonstrated experience in a leadership/management role supervising and managing a small team and a willingness to undertake further training;
- Demonstrated understanding of NDIS legislation, systems and processes and ability to build strong, meaningful, productive relationship with local organisations, including the NDIA and other mainstream services to benefit Congress NDIS clients.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in coordinating services for complex and vulnerable clients, particularly clients with a disability or other impairment and an ability to work independently and as part of a team setting, setting individual work.
- Considerable experience in the use of computer-based data systems, including client information programs.
- Current Northern Territory or Australian Driver’s Licence
