About the role

 

The Family Domestic and Sexual Violence Practice Lead is responsible for providing Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence expertise in relation to the delivery of services, professional development and clinical education to staff, and representation to the Family Safety Framework for Congress. This position will also assist with the implementation of the Risk Assessment and Management Framework at Congress.

 

This position is a critical contributor to Congress clients and remote communities.

 

The ideal candidate will be a person with:

  • A four-year undergraduate qualification or Master’s degree in Social Work (or equivalent) recognised or accredited by the AASW (or equivalent), with considerable experience in practice.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and understanding about family, domestic, and sexual violence.
  • Demonstrated ability in delivering social work and other intervention in relation to family, domestic, and sexual violence.
  • Demonstrated ability in effectively communicating with diverse stakeholders, both orally and in writing and be willing to discuss and demonstrate own knowledge and skills with work colleagues.
  • Competency in providing professional development, clinical education, and clinical supervision in relation to family, domestic, and sexual violence to a multidisciplinary team.
  • Awareness of Aboriginal culture within Australia’s history, knowledge of cultural sensitivities and current issues affecting the lives of Aboriginal people in conjunction with a willingness to incorporate Aboriginal values into practice.
  • Current NT Driver’s Licence or the ability to transfer from another State/Territory.
  • Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations.
  • (Desirable criteria) Is of Aboriginal descent and identifies as an Aboriginal person, and is accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community.
