About the role

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Ingkintja, the Codes 4 Life Project Officer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of Codes 4 Life workshops and activities both on a daily and long-term basis. The Codes 4 Life Project Officer will play a pivotal role in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of the Codes 4 Life workshops and activities.

 

The Codes 4 Life program is aimed at supporting Aboriginal men to address harmful behaviours and promote positive, respectful relationships within their communities. This role will focus on delivering culturally responsive, strength-based interventions that empower Aboriginal men to make meaningful changes in their lives. Additionally, the Project Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the Senior Manager – Ingkintja to enhance and expand the program’s effectiveness.

 

To be considered for this position, you will have:

 

  • The ability to work collaboratively and communicate sensitively in a cross-cultural environment with Aboriginal Elders, clients and staff, including excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated high level organisational skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve results and meet deadlines within tight time constraints.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and software (e.g. MS Office or similar) and the ability to learn new systems, processes and technologies.
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history, and the ability to be discreet and maintain a high level of respect and confidentiality.
  • Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations.
  • Current NT Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one.
