About the role The Registered Nurse/Midwife will assist the dissemination and implementation of the HTLV-1 Australian Clinical Guidelines, and raise awareness of HTLV-1 in Central Australia. The Midwife will provide Aboriginal women, health professionals and others working in maternity services with information and support for HTLV-1 screening and consenting processes and evidence-based prevention strategies. To be considered for this position, you will be require to meet the following essential requirements: Registered Nurse or Midwife with current APHRA registration with relevant experience. Extensive knowledge of HTLV-1 with an interest in health promotion and preventing transmission of the disease. Ability to provide individual and group education on HTLV-1 to both health professionals and clients. Experience in service delivery within Comprehensive Primary Health Care service and provision of culturally responsive services to Aboriginal clients. Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations if required. Current NT Drivers Licence.
