We are looking for an Aboriginal Youth Worker to join our organisation.

Casual Contract Available

 

Hourly Rate: $35.83 – $38.82 (exclusive of casual loading)

Base Salary: $69,868 – $75,699 (p.a.)

 

About the role 
The Aboriginal Youth Worker role will be based in Mutitjulu and Yulara, works in partnership with the community, young people and families, to educate, advocate and raise awareness of youth mental health in a culturally appropriate way. The position plays a key role in direct consultation with community, with young people, and with key stakeholders in other services. The role designs, coordinates, and delivers community awareness activities, promotions, and educational presentations in Mutitjulu and Yulara. The role also raises awareness of the impact of alcohol and other drugs on mental health and works to raise the profile and awareness of headspace services for young people aged 12-25. The position will also be important in the delivery of a comprehensive primary healthcare service as part of the Congress clinic.

 

The Aboriginal Youth Worker will also provide input into the ongoing design and review of the services offered in both locations.  The ongoing consultation and engagement activities of the Aboriginal Youth Worker will inform the headspace service of community expectations and will play an important role in shaping a culturally appropriate headspace service within these communities.
